Application Process

 

Important Information

 

Please note the following:

·        Print IACE application.  (Click here for application.)

·        Complete all sections of the application

·        Make certain that you include or have requested your schools to send complete official educational records when you apply for an evaluation.  Incomplete records will delay the evaluation process.

·        If you are continuing your education, most colleges and universities require a course-by-course evaluation (Detailed).

·        If you are seeking to obtain a Teaching Certificate, please contact your State Board of Educator Certification for specific requirements.  IACE is an accepted SBEC evaluation service, in Texas (www.sbec.state.tx.us).

·        If your evaluation is for a licensing board, please contact the state board to which you intend to apply for requirements and licensing application information.

·        If you are seeking employment, please contact the Human Resource (HR) department at the places for which you are seeking employment for their specific requirements.

 

Documentation Requirements

Using the United States Postal Service (USPS) Certified Mail or Express Mail, send ALL of your original language educational credentials (diplomas, certificates, degrees, titles, transcripts, grade reports, study book, marksheets with subjects and grades, and exam results) starting with secondary school.

You must include one complete set of photocopies.  The original documents will be returned to you by United States Postal Service Certified Mail for safekeeping.

 

Document Exceptions

UNITED STATES – IACE does not evaluate U.S. credentials.  Please do not include them with your foreign credentials to be evaluated.

INDIA – Photocopies of educational records from India are acceptable.  Include all individual year marksheets with subjects and grades and a syllabus, if available.  Marksheets must include paper titles.

PAKISTAN / BANGLADESH / SRI LANKA – Marksheets must include paper titles.  Include a syllabus, if available.

NIGERIA / HAITI / GHANA– All educational documentation MUST be mailed to us directly from the issuing institution and will not be returned to the applicant or a third party.  Please contact your educational institution and have all your documentation which apply to your educational history sent to IACE.

Applicants with credentials from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or National Examinations Council (NECO) must contact the Exam Council to obtain a scratch card and then provide IACE with the Serial Number and ID Number from the card so that we can verify your results online at (www.waecdirect.org) or (www.neconigeria.org)

 

Translation of Documents

All documents must be submitted in the language in which they were originally issued with an English translation.  You may prepare the English translation yourself.

 

Name Change

If the name on your records is different from your name now, please send legal verification of all name changes.  This may be in the form of a photocopy of a marriage license, passport identification page, or legal notice in a newspaper.  Court documents are also recommended.

 

Types of Evaluations

·   General Evaluation – Statement of equivalency in relation to U.S. educational system (for example, a U.S. high school diploma, a U.S. Bachelor’s degree, Vocational Training in a specific area, U.S. Master’s degree).  Two (2) original evaluation reports are provided.

·   Detailed Evaluation – Statement of equivalency relative to the U.S. educational system as well as course-by-course listing of subjects with grades (adjusted for U.S. grading scales) and corresponding U.S. credit hours earned at the university level.  Two (2) original evaluation reports are provided.

·   Preliminary Evaluation – Unofficial general equivalency review of credentials.  Results will be emailed to the client.

 

Services and Fees

·        General Evaluation:  $85

·        Detailed Evaluation:  $135

·        Preliminary Evaluation:  $40

All of the following may be added to either the General Evaluation or the Detailed Evaluation:

·        Grade Point Average (GPA):  $20

·        Photocopy Fee:  $20  (If photocopies of all educational records are not sent with the original application)

·        Quick Service:  $125  Evaluation completed within 1-2 business days after receipt of all required information and documentation

·        Rush Service:  $75  Evaluation completed within 3-5 business days after receipt of all required information and documentation

·        Consultation Service after 6 months:  $60  Six (6) months after the original date of your evaluation, a consultation fee will be charged for questions concerning your evaluation

·        Overnight Mail (Express) Service:  $20

·        Additional copy of evaluation:  $10/per copy  (in addition to the 2 originals included with the evaluation report)

·        Faxed copy of evaluation:  $10

·        Adding to your file:

·        If IACE previously prepared a General Evaluation for you and you now need a Detailed Evaluation:  $50

·        If you add new or updated credentials to your evaluation:  $50

·        If you change your Detailed Evaluation to a General Evaluation  $50

 

 

Payment Methods

·        Personal Check:                           Payable in U.S. dollars and issued by a U.S. bank.  Fees are payable to IACEI.

·        Money Order:                               Fees are payable to IACEI.

·        Visa Credit/Debit Card:                 Provide exact name as it appears on card, account number, and expiration date.

·        MasterCard Credit/Debit Card:      Provide exact name as it appears on card, account number, and expiration date.

 

Evaluation Agreement

I agree to All terms specified in this Application for Evaluation:

·        If IACE determines that an evaluation cannot be issued, IACE shall not be responsible for any damages that you may incur.

·        I agree to reimburse IACE for any and all costs, including legal expenses which it may incur as a result of any claim that I (or anyone with an interest in my earnings or services) may make based on the evaluation report for this application.

·        I certify that all information provided in this application is true and correct.

Remember to sign and date the evaluation agreement on the Application Form.

 

Mailing Instructions

Mail all materials United States Postal Service (USPS) Certified Mail or Express Mail for safekeeping.

For clients within the United States, we do not recommend any other method of delivery.

Please make note of your tracking number when mailing your materials by United States Postal Service (USPS) Certified Mail or Express Mail.  Your tracking number can be used to confirm delivery of documents to IACE.  To track your documents or to report a delivery problem, please contact the postal service either by phone (1-800-275-8777) or by email (www.usps.com).

 

For clients outside the U.S.Contact IACE for a physical address for courier.

 

Processing Time

Once we have ALL your documentation and fees, it usually takes 10-12 business days for your evaluation to be completed, if no additional research or verification is necessary.  IACE reserves the right to extend the evaluation time if considerable research or verification is necessary.  IACE claims no responsibility for delays by sources outside the Service.  We offer a 1-2 day service or a 3-5 day service for additional fees (See Services and Fees table).

 

Refunds

No refunds are given when falsified records have been submitted or when the application is withdrawn by the client.

 

Inactive Files

·        If IACE prepares an evaluation for you, it will remain active for a period of five (5) years.  During this time, you may obtain additional copies of your evaluation at $10 per copy.

·        If you applied for an evaluation but did not receive it due to incomplete client records or pending verification of records, your file will remain active for a period of one (1) year.  After one (1) year, your file will become inactive.  To re-activate your file, you must submit a new application and pay the appropriate fees.
